Keine Forschung für die Schublade

4. Dezember 2010: Am Dienstag werde ich die Kanzlerin Frau Dr. Angela Merkel anlässlich des in Dresden stattfindenden IT-Gipfels der Bundesregierung treffen.
Ich, Heinz, treffe die Kanzlerin. Mann, hätte ich auch nie gedacht.

Beim IT-Gipfel werden die wichtigsten Projekte im Bereich der IT in Deutschland vorgestellt. Doch wenn man sich die aktuelle IT-Landschaft betrachtet, hat man den Eindruck, dass alles in Amerika passiert. Google, Apple, Amazon – man hat immer das Gefühl, dass ein Deutschland die Zeit verschlafen wird.

Ich denke aber, wir müssen nur tiefer graben. Denn neben den ganz großen Playern in Deutschland wie SAP und Siemens sind es immer mehr KMUs, die innovativ sind. Dies zeigt sich auch in verschiedenen Forschungsprojekten der Bundesregierung, wo KMUs vielfach die unmittelbar verwertbaren Ergebnisse liefern. Keine Forschung für die Schublade, sondern konkrete Anwendungsfelder, die nach Abschluss der Forschung kurzfristig in reale Produkte überführt werden.

Hier sollte die Bundesregierung mehr tun. Das Gebiet der Entwicklung von betriebswirtschaftlich interessanten Applikationen (Apps) für mobile Endgeräte wird immer wichtiger und einige der KMUs sind hier sehr aktiv. Das muss in den Fokus rücken, zusammen mit USDL, der neuen ultimativen Beschreibungssprache für Services. Und das bringt eine KMU sogar jetzt schon auf die Handys.

Das erleichtert die Programmierung und bringt spannende Anwendungen. Super!
